Like a lot of cliques, Emo started as a style of rock music and morphed into a full-fledged culture. The emotion that is portrayed and emoted by this style of punk-rock music has spoken for and to a lot of people. Emo music has complex arrangements and lyrics that deal with emotional subjects, thus "EMO".
First we had punk, then hard-core punk, then came the loosely catagorized genre of post-hardcore punk called Emo. Much like Gangster Rap, Emo punk vocalizes the thoughts and feelings of many of our youths. Look around and try to understand their story.
Disclaimer: We, as humans, like to define things. On these pages, definitions may vary from region to region, but Hella Cliques, through intense research, has tried to bring you the rawest history of each clique.
