Punk music is a form of DIY garage music, where the sounds are rough and the recordings are rougher. The idea is to rock hard whether you know the rules of music and have a good singing voice or not. It is a very fast paced rock-n-roll with a very specific lyrical agenda. The messages of anti-conformity, anti-establishment, freedom, contentiousness, and in-general just not giving a bleep... define the whole atheistic of this clique.
PUNKS dress, live, speak, and rock-out in a manner that is supposed to be shocking to the mainstream.
In response, mainstream has turned "punk" into a derogatory term meaning worthless. Which is true if you look at the fact that punks are usually vulgar and refuse to add to the brainless rat race. Punks don't need 9-5 jobs or zombie-like work commutes. They don't need oppressive religion. They don't need you or anyone. Understand... to be a proper member of this clique, it's much more than just looking the part, it's a whole attitude and ideology.
