WHERE CLIQUES,
OLD AND NEW,
COME TOGETHER IN HARMONY

With Knowledge Comes Tolerance

LOUNGE MUSIC: Originated in the US in the 20's as Light Music, then became popular in the 50's and 60's.  It saw a resurgence in the late 1980's.  Lounge music is a style of light music that is supposed to evoke a feeling of space.  It is a relaxing, background music.  As this style of music was played in Lounges, Piano Bars, and Dinner Clubs... those who frequented these scenes to chill-out or lounge around, became known as LOUNGERS.

So, as you can imagine, a Lounger has a style nostalgic of an earlier time in history.  An era where one's clothes were tailored, cocktails were the rage, the women had long filters on their cigarettes... smoking away while partaking in all manners of witty conversation.

Loungers are not to be confused with Crooners.

Disclaimer: We, as humans, like to define things. On these pages, definitions may vary from region to region, but Hella Cliques, through intense research, has tried to bring you the rawest history of each clique. DON'T BE A POSER!
