GRUNGE is a clique that originated in the early 1990s in Seattle, WA. It soon spread across the country and around the world, but was short lived as GRUNGE bands fell apart. GRUNGE is a mix of punk rock & heavy metal. Few can deny the greatness of all of the Grunge bands and the new generations of young seem to love them just as much as their parents. Here in the 2010s, SOFT GRUNGE, has sprung up and with new bands emerging.
GRUNGE FASHION: dirty, torn jeans of blue, black or grey; poorly fitting t-shirt; a flannel wrapped around at the waist; boots that are not laced all the way up, but instead are left open at the top; beanies; torn up stockings under jean shorts; and messy; black nail polish; black or maroon lips; choker necklace; velvet; and just got out of bed hair.
