Subcultures are very often outgrowths of a style of music.  In this case, the Cyberpunk clique evolved from literature.  CYBERPUNK is a subgenre of science fiction.  Of course, the CYBER: the future is ruled by computer technology.  PUNK: the people of the future are anti-establishment punks who fight for their freedom against the oppressive cyber society.  In the case of cyberpunk, the future is not too far off - usually set in the late 2000s.- and is bleak. 

 

Besides reading science fiction and watching cyberpunk movies, members of the cyberpunk community do enjoy going to raves featuring cybertronic melodies.

What to wear to a cyberpunk rave?  The look of cyberpunk is similar to cybergoth but different...  Cyberpunks are tough, wear camo, and are ready to fight ... plus any cyber accessories such as cybergoggles, gas masks, and latex.
